Seasons of Pruning and Growth

Last week, I woke up with a word stirring in my spirit: “There will be a pruning.

At first, it felt heavy, but then God reminded me that pruning is not about loss—it’s about growth. “He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” (John 15:2)

Just like a rocket ship drops off certain parts as it rises higher, there are people, places, and seasons that are only meant to carry us part of the way.

It doesn’t mean their role wasn’t important. In fact, without those parts, the rocket would never have launched. But to reach greater heights, some things must be released.

The same is true in life and ministry. Some people are called to walk with us for a season, while others are meant for the whole journey. Both are gifts, and both play a purpose in God’s plan. “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

Remember this it’s a sign that God is preparing you for greater heights.

Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)
